EASA New Zealand Chapter Technical Training 2018

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 to Tuesday, November 20, 2018

On behalf of EASA New Zealand members are hosting seven technical training sessions throughout New Zealand. These sessions will cover three topics presented by SKF, Loctite, Morgan.

Advanced Materials will be four hours. They are available for both members and non-members, your staff and customers and their staff. A break with light refreshments will be included.

TOPIC 1: Mounting and Dismounting

Description: Mounting and dismounting of Y-bearings, ball bearings, cylindrical andspherical roller bearings and CARB bearings. Tools and devices available for easyand accurate mounting/dismounting of bearings. Common bearing failures andhow they relate to mounting and dismounting.

TOPIC 2: Loctite Product Selection & Use

The regional sales engineers will take us through the use of their products, with a focus on bearing journal and housing fits, bearing mounting and temporary repairs.

TOPIC 3: Carbon Brushes & thier Applications

Including correct brush box mounting, measuring of brushes, checking springs and​ tensators, and fault diagnosis on DC motor commutators and slip-ring motors and generators.

2019 Chapter Leadership Forum

Friday, March 22, 2019 to Saturday, March 23, 2019

EASA chapter officers will have the opportunity to take advantage of valuable training at the 2019 Chapter Leadership Forum scheduled March 22-23, 2019, in St. Louis, Missouri. The event will be held at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark.

Be sure to put these dates on your chapter calendar. Registration details will be provided in late 2018.

If you’re a new chapter leader, or recently became one, make a note of this future program. You might want to talk to those who attended the training before in order to get a better idea of what to expect. The last two-day Chapter Leadership Forum was held in March 2017.

The Chapter Leadership Forum is designed to give chapter officers and others the training they need to lead their chapters and to fulfill the duties of their respective offices.


EASA New Zealand Chapter AGM 2019

Friday, April 12, 2019 to Saturday, April 13, 2019

The EASA New Zealand Chapter 2019 AGM is being held in Christchurch at the Distinction Hotel 14 Cathedral Square on April 12th and 13th 2019. 

There are 15 rooms set aside for you our members at NZD$269.00 per night which includes breakfast. Just ring and confirm with them. (03 3777 000)

Our thanks to Peter Wortley from ABB-Christchurch who is putting on a BBQ on the afternoon of Friday 12th for us all.

There is also apparently a Super Rugby game on the Friday night for those interested. The Super Rugby game is Crusaders V Highlanders at 7:35PM on Friday 12th April (venue to be confirmed.)

An email will be sent a bit closer to the date with a list of our exciting speakers your committee will have lined up and also details about where you may be going on the Saturday afternoon for a tour.

Our President’s Dinner will be held at the hotel from 7pm.

We look forward to seeing you all there and we hope some of our Australian members might enjoy attending as well.
